Arvo Sijoitusosuuskunta, listed on the Nasdaq North Growth market, has become a minority shareholder in the Kokkola‑based Quarken Boats Oy through private placement worth €1.5 million. The financing package enables the launch of a new flagship boat range.
“We have been working with Quarken for over a year through bridge financing. During this cooperation, we had the opportunity to closely follow the company’s operations and the potential of Finnish boatbuilding, which gave us the confidence to join the company’s growth also through ownership,” says Arvo’s Chief Investment Officer, Kati Peltomaa, describing the investment process.
Arvo’s investment is part of a broader financing package that enables the development and launch of a completely new over 40‑foot model range.
“For some time now, our customers have been asking for a larger boat to complement our 27‑ and 35‑foot model ranges. We have explored the concept together with our dealer network and our engine partner Yamaha. We all share the same view of the strong demand for a 40‑foot model range. Arvo joining as a shareholder provides the capital required for this investment, while also strengthening our board work, expert networks, and execution of our growth plan,” says Quarken Boats’ CEO, Antero Sundberg.
According to the plan, the first new boats will be completed during summer 2027. The financing package for Quarken Boats also includes OP Financing Group, State-owned Finnvera plc, and the ELY, Center of economic development.
Quarken boats represent modern Nordic design, innovative solutions, and a highly refined user experience. All Quarken boats are built in Finland. The boats have received several nominations and awards in international competitions and are sold in more than 25 countries.
